The “Operação Macaco” (“Monkey Operation”) is born from the convergence of efforts of various entities to catalyze strategic actions aimed at conservation of endangered primate species.
The inspiration for creating a symbol that represents the “Operação Macaco” (“Monkey Operation”) was the monkey Muriqui, a monkey of the family Atelidae and Brachyteles genus also known as buriquins, buriquis, mariquinhas, mariquinas, muriquinas, muriquinhas and mono-carvoeiro and the wood monkey created by Danish designer Kay Bojesen in the 1950s.
